Definitely my most favorite story all the time. I love Bartimaeus and I love Jonathan Stroud’s writing style. The plot is understandable and enjoyable to read. Eventhough I haven’t read other Jonathan Stroud’s book, I get impressed on the way Jonathan makes Bartimaeus such a strongly funny and hilarious character like Bartimaeus.

The relationship between Bartimaeus and Amira is not as deep as Bartimaeus and Nathaniel, but I like the way Bartimaeus acts and solves anything, with his funny side as usual. In this book, we find that Bartimaeus is not only funny, but also smart, because now he does anything a little bit with his will, not when he was highly forced to do something like he was with Nathaniel. So he brings us a briliant scenes, and still we can laugh at everything he does and says. In some way, I think Amira has a similarity with Kitty.

Moreover, the translation is very good, and suitable with the condition. I never think that if I read an english version, I would laugh and enjoy the story more than when I read the Indonesian version.

4.5 stars - I heart this book, everyone *must* read it
